I take this opportunity to convey warm felicitations to the people of the State and greetings to the members of the Tripura Police fraternity, as well as, the members of various security forces deployed in the State.

           With great difficulty, we have been able to put behind the menace of insurgency in the State. However, the insurgents are down but not out. Their infrastructure across the border has largely remained unaffected and some of them have been hovering just outside the Indo-Bangladesh border, waiting for an opportunity to sneak in and unleash mayhem on the unsuspecting population, as well as, members of the security forces and their installations. The need of the hour is to maintain complete vigil to ensure that security forces are able to thwart their designs and neutralize them. We propose to achieve our objective with the cooperation of the people of the State.

          The other major aspects needing urgent attention include crime against women in the State, which is required to be addressed professionally by spreading awareness among the people, and the seemingly larger number of vehicle accident cases, which needs to be checked by taking a slew of measures including educating drivers and eliciting help and support of the people in general.

            I would like to assure everyone that Tripura Police has always been and would continue to remain people friendly.
