Imprisonment for six months to one accused in 454 IPC cases and 3 of IPP Act.
On 26-11-2014 the J. M, 1ST Class, Khowai convicted one accused person namely Ali Miah S/O Lt Kabir Miah of Kaituni PS- Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh and sentenced to suffer imprisonment for six months and to pay fine of Rs-1000/- U/S- 454 of Indian Penal Code and 3 of IPP Act(entry into India).
Bike accident claimed one Life
due to non-strapping of helmet
On night of 23-11-14 at about 2130 hrs one Rashajit Datta (45) S/O- Lt. Krinshna Mohan Datta of Bamutia, Taltala, PS- Lefunga, a Havildar of 10th Bn TSR posted at Sidhi Ashram was proceeding towards Radhanagar on his own Motor cycle No. TR01-P-6650 (Hero Honda Splender). While he reached at Badharghat near under construction bridge on National Highway 44 a Maruti Van bearing no. TR01-N-0620 coming from opposite direction in high speed dashed the motor bike rider. As a result Hav. Rashajit Datta, rider of the bike received grievous injuries on his head. He was shifted to GBP hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries.
During investigation it is revealed that cause of death of Hav. Rashajit Datta due to severe head injury. Though Rashajit Datta was wearing full helmet but the strap was not fasten properly. When the Maruti van dashed the motor bike, the rider of the bike fell down on the road and due to the impact the helmet of the rider was flown away from his head as its attached belt was not fasten. This is an avoidable incident, which costs a loss of an invaluable life. He would have survived had he strapped the helmet properly.
Road mishap under Kachucherra PS, one died & 2 injured.
Today on 22-11-2014 at about 1310 hours, one motor bike bearing registration No.TR-04-6672 while proceeding towards Jamthung from Thalibari under Kachucherra PS collided with another motor bike which was coming from opposite direction at Thalbari. Thalibari(PO) is located at about 22 Km North – East from PS. As a result 3 persons namely (1)Barun Debbarma (42), S/O Lt. Sonacharan Debbarma of Avanga, PS-Salema, rider of TR-04-6672, (2) Jamirjoy Halam S/O Debalal Halam of Thalbari, PS-Kachucherra, rider of another bike received grievous injuries and (3) Gandhijoy Halam(45), S/O Mantu Pal Halam of Bang Bari, PS-Kachucherra(pillion rider) received simple injuries who was released from hospital after first aid. Injured Barun Debbarma and Jamirjoy Halam were referred to GBP Hospital via Kamalpur Hospital. AT GBP Hospital attending doctor declared Barun Debbarma as brought dead. Injured Jamirjoy Halam is under treatment at GBPHospital and his condition is stated to be critical.
On 20-11-14 evening one Ratindra Reang (38) /O Lt. Rajadhan Reang of Uricherra PS-Kanchanpur, teacher by profession while proceeding from Vangmun to Kanchanpur on his own Pulsar motor bike bearing No.TR-02-A-9972 met with an accident at Bru Para on Kanchanpur – Vangmun road. As a result Sri Ratindra Reang received injuries on his person. He was immediately shifted to Kanchanpur PHC, wherefrom he was referred to RGM Hospital, Kailashahar. On 21-11-2014 at 0200 hours, Ratindra Reang succumbed to his injuries at RGM Hospital, Kailashahar.
During investigation it is revealed that cause of death of Ratindra Reang due to severe head injury. Though Ratindra Reang was wearing full helmet but he did not strap it properly. Due to this when he fell down from the bike, helmet got detached from his head and could not protect his head. He would have survived had he been strapped the helmet properly.
Tripura Police therefore request all the two wheeler riders to wear and properly strap the helmets. “Wearing a helmet can save your life”.
One minor girl of Indranagar area who was a student of Class-XI of a reputed School of Agartala was kidnapped on 04-09-2014 by a resident of Kalibari, Indranagar Chowdhury tilla, Agartala. The accused person along with the kidnapped girl left the state by air. Since then the kidnapped girl and accused were untraced. In this connection a case was registered at West Agartala Women PS vide case No.117/14 u/s 366(A) IPC on 05-09-14. O.C West Agartal Women PS took up the investigation.
During investigation Police traced the location of accused and on the basis of secret information both victim and accused have been traced out at Gaya (Bihar). West Agartala Women PS staff are now on way to Gaya to bring back the accused person and victim girl wanted in c/w the case.

Attention is drawn to news reports appearing in
a section of electronic media that a supporter of Bandh called by Tripura
Pradesh Congress died due to physical assault by CPM supporters at
Damcherra today. The report is factually incorrect, false and baseless. As
a matter of fact today i.e. 20-11-2014 at 0730 hours, 15/20 supporters of
INC Party took out a procession from Narendranagar in support of 12 hours
Tripura Bandh. While the procession was moving around Dhamcherra Market
and crossed a steep slope, suddenly, one of the participants of the
procession namely Kameshwar Sinha (62) S/O Lt. Sena Sinha of Narendrapur,
PS-Dhamcherra suddenly became unwell. Some of the supporters immediately
took him to Dhamcherra PHC for medical attention where doctor declared him
